SAINSBURY'S and Argos are making plans to hire around 19,000 staff to help to serve a surge in shoppers over the key festive retail season.

The two brands, which are part of the Sainsbury's group, are launching the recruitment drive today for a range of roles, including serving customers, deliveries and replenishing shelves.
