Blackmailer in threat to expose victim's sexuality

A 'VINDICTIVE' man threatened to expose his victim's sexuality unless he paid him, telling him he'd 'regret' blocking his phone number.

Cameron Warburton, 30, met the man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, on an app.

They exchanged sexual messages, pictures and videos on the dating platform before the victim gave Warburton his number, and they began messaging on WhatsApp.

"The victim then gave his address to the defendant, as the defendant lived close by and he believed they would be engaging in sexual relations," said prosecutor Gwen Henshaw. "The defendant then stated to the victim that he only has sex with people for money."

The victim refused, at which Warburton threatened to share the videos with others unless he was paid £250, a sentencing hearing at Manchester Crown Court heard yesterday. Again he refused and blocked Warburton, who began messaging him on IM using his email address, demanding the cash.
