METROLINK APOLOGY AFTER FINAL DEMAND SENT TO WRONG ADDRESS
A WOMAN who rarely uses public transport was told she had to appeal against a Metrolink fine - even though it was sent to her in error.
Rebecca Westaway, 58, believes someone who was caught on a tram without a ticket has given inspectors her address. After sending the letter back unopened in December, she received a 'final reminder' letter about the penalty fare last week.
The diversity and inclusion coordinator complained to Metrolink but was told she must appeal against the notice. She refused to open the letter which was addressed to the 'parent/guardian of' a person whose name she did not recognise.
