Teaching staff to walk out in pay row

STRIKE action looks set to continue at an independent school with pupils from the Macclesfield area.

Teaching staff who are part of the National Education Union (NEU) at Alderley Edge School for Girls had already announced a walk out on April 29 and 30.
And this week it was said a further three days are planned from Tuesday, May 6, to Thursday, May 8.
The industrial action is part of a row over pensions.
Sarah Vaughan, Cheshire East NEU branch secretary, said: "Our members at Alderley Edge took up their jobs with a contract of employment that included membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS).
