Slim-success couple win club's contest

A COUPLE worked together to win a joint slimming award after shedding five stone between them in less than 12 months.

Laura Beard, from Macclesfield, joined her local Slimming World group in January 2024 to lose weight for her upcoming wedding to now husband Justin Beard.
After seeing his wife’s success he joined in January 2025 to help with his bid to get healthier.
Laura, who weighed 15st 11.5lb, has since lost more than three stone while Justin, who tipped the scales at 15st 13Ib, has shed just under 2st.
Both attend the Macclesfield Rugby Club group and their achievements have seen the couple win its Two Together competition.
