School gets insights from sporting greats
Macclesfield Express
|May 21, 2025
SPORTING superstars Dame Sarah Storey and Sir Chris Hoy were in Macclesfield to share their Olympic journeys.
-
In front of an audience of 600 people at the King's School, in Prestbury, the cycling duo gave personal insights into their lives and careers.
Chris spoke of his cancer diagnosis, which he revealed last year.
He said: "It came out of the blue and there's little I can do about it, but life is finite for everyone and it has inspired me to enjoy every day.
"It has also provided me with an opportunity to raise awareness and in the process raise £1 million for cancer care."
