Protester who took to rooftop guilty of child sex offences

A MAN whose rooftop protest saw part of Macclesfield town centre cordoned off has been found guilty of predatory child sex offences.

Leo Deen, 61, will be sentenced on Wednesday, May 7, for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause or incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity with no penetration.
He will also be sentenced for attempting to cause a child 13 to 15 to watch or look at an image of sexual activity after being found guilty of all three charges at Chester Crown Court.
It was said that in October 2023 a woman set up a Facebook profile posing as a 15-year-old girl.
