Money cashes in as rivals seal Cup win

THE second rainy day of the weekend saw Macc entertain Premier League side Chester Boughton Hall in the second round of the Cheshire Cup.
The weather was kind and a prompt start was made with Macc batting first after the visitors won the toss.
Macc got off to a good start despite the early loss of Jimmy Longhorn, caught at deep gully for a duck and the score 6-1.
Skipper Jon Massey played a bright innings, finding the boundary when offered any loose deliveries, supported well by Leo Burns.
The pair added 64 runs in decent time but Chester were starting to put pressure on with good bowling from McFarlane and Williams.
Massey was caught for 49 off Williams to make it 70-2 then Burns was run out for 20 thanks to an excellent throw from the boundary by Nain soon after. Andrew Poppa and Dan Evans also fell quickly leaving Macc in a bit of trouble at 86-5.
