MEN involved in a 'vast, murky criminal network' stole the personal details of one million people so information could be used for nuisance injury claim calls.

Craig Cornick, 40, of Prestbury, was found guilty of conspiracy to unlawfully obtain personal data following a 10-week trial with evidence totalling 4.5m documents.

Also involved in the case was Thomas Daly, 35, of Macclesfield, who had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to unlawfully obtain personal data.

Meanwhile Ian Flanagan, 40, of Macclesfield, Kiernan Thorlby, 35, of Macclesfield, Mark Preece, 44, of Manchester and Vincent McCartan, 30, of Failsworth all admitted conspiracy to unlawfully obtain personal data and conspiracy to secure unauthorised access to data held on computer systems.
