Awaab's family speak out as housing chief ousted in U-turn following two-year-old's tragic death
THE family of tragic Awaab Ishak said housing association boss Gareth Swarbrick should have resigned over the two-year-old's death before his sacking yesterday.
They said they found it 'wholly unacceptable' that the board of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing had expressed confidence in its now ousted chief executive just 48 hours earlier. Their comments came at a vigil held for Awaab yesterday in Rochdale, during which they called for support for the M.E.N's campaign for Awaab's Law almost 70,000 people have now signed our petition.
Politicians also reacted to Mr Swarbrick's sacking, with the leader of Rochdale council saying it was the 'right decision!
