LEAVING A MESSAGE WITH HELP FOR HEROES CHARITY IS FREE TO DO
Rachel Williamson who is a Royal Air Force veteran living in Loughborough is asking people from the region to show veterans that they haven't been forgotten, by leaving a message of support on the Help for Heroes message wall. Rachel has experienced loneliness and isolation herself, so understands the impact it can have.
AN RAF veteran from Leicestershire is asking local people to send a message of hope to our veterans this Christmas, to show that they value our service men and women.
Last December, thousands of messages of support for veterans were posted online on the Help for Heroes Message Wall and the charity is hoping that people from the county will respond again.
Rachel Williamson, aged 36 years and from Loughborough, served for 10 ½ years and said: “Veterans can sometimes feel they are forgotten by society. And if they're living with physical injuries, disabilities or mental illness they can become isolated - and especially at Christmas, their mental health can spiral down even further.
