Developer and council agree plan to fix estate

A developer has apologised to neighbours of a housing estate for problems that have left fences rotting and people being able to see into their gardens.

Barley Fields estate in Queniborough was approved by Charnwood Borough Council a decade ago.
But council officers said some areas of the development were “constructed higher than those approved”.
This means people using along a footpath along the edge of the development, and a zipline and a slide in the playground, can see into properties. Ward councillor Laurie Needham said neighbours had also had water pooling against fences, causing them to rot.
