Almost 200 speed checks - but just one going too fast

POLICE who carried out hundreds of speed checks along a number of busy county roads caught just one person driving over the limit.
Reports had suggested that many drivers were ignoring the 40mph limit along Nanpantan Road, near Loughborough - but the numbers on the day the police were there did not add up.
The Nanpantan Road statistics were among others revealed by police, taking in their speed deterrent patrols and speeding operations from work in Charnwood.
