Senior UN officials spoke highly of China's green transition and its global significance during earlier interviews with China Global Television Network (CGTN) as China continues to refine its commitments to sustainable development.

On September 24, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a video speech at the UN Climate Summit, announcing China's new nationally determined contributions: by 2035, economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions will fall seven percent to 10 percent from peak levels, non-fossil fuels will account for over 30 percent of total energy consumption, and wind and solar power capacity is expected to reach 3.6 billion kilowatts.
According to Xi, this is a vivid embodiment of China's commitment to the vision that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets." By staying firmly on the path of green development, China continues to inject confidence and momentum into global climate governance.
