Pereira’s late strike helps Toluca extend Galaxy’s suffering in 2025

Toluca pulled off a stunning comeback in the final minutes — capped by Federico Pereira’s 93rd-minute goal — to defeat the Galaxy 3-2 at Dignity Health Sports Park, winning their first title in the Campeones Cup that pits the MLS champion against the Liga MX Campeén de Campeones.

The Galaxy, which won the 2024 MLS Cup, entered the match hoping to salvage a year that has been a nightmare in MLS play.
On the other hand, the Red Devils, champions of the Campeén de Campeones after defeating Club América, were in great form, motivated to crown a successful cycle.
