Handcrafted lanterns bring festive glow to Guangzhou during Mid-Autumn Festival

A 30-year-old handmade lantern shop in Guangzhou City, south China's Guangdong Province has become a favorite among locals during the Mid-Autumn Festival, offering a variety of unique lanterns that capture the festive spirit.

Located in Yuexiu District, the shop is filled with an array of lantern designs, attracting numerous customers eager to select their favorites during the festival period. Zheng, a loyal customer for over a decade, shared his excitement about this year's purchase. He bought a goldfish lantern and an apple lantern for his niece.
"I've been buying lanterns here for over 10 years. This time, I'm just buying for my niece to enjoy, not myself. These are traditional customs. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, people eat mooncakes and play with lanterns," he said.
