'We lived to regret missed chances'

Boss says Rovers should have been out of sight by half-time before conceding three as their Trophy hopes ended

ANDY Crosby says Tranmere lived to regret their missed opportunities against Fleetwood Town and should've been out of sight at halftime.

Rovers conceded three after the interval to crash out of the Vertu Trophy, ending their four-game unbeaten run in the process.

And the 52-year-old believes his side's performance after the break wasn’t good enough to deal with the visitors.

He said: “It was a tale of two halves in terms of how we controlled the game initially. I was really pleased with how we moved the ball. We got it wide, we got balls into the box, but we didn’t take our opportunities and that’s the story of the game.

“It probably should’ve been over at halftime, but that’s no excuse for losing the ball as often as we did in the second half. We didn’t create enough in the final third after the break, either.
