A NEW mural celebrating 100 important figures from the Merseyside music scene has been unveiled - on "the most famous music street in the world".

- By HANNAH REES ECHO Reporter

Featuring stars from The Beatles to OMD, The Teardrop Explodes to Frankie Goes to Hollywood, and on to bands of the present day, the mural was designed and created by artist Joseph Venning.

The mural, on Mathew Street and a few steps from The Cavern and Eric’s, was revealed at a special event yesterday.

The new mural is 15 metres wide and pictures the 100 musicians as an audience, with Mathew Street as the stage itself.

Joseph said he has been working from 6am until 9pm to get the massive project complete.
