Saints slam Wilkin's 'damaging' comments

ST HELENS have hit back at club legend Jon Wilkin, saying they are “appalled “ by his post-match comments in the aftermath of their defeat to Warrington Wolves.
Saints opened their Super League campaign with a 24-14 defeat at Halliwell Jones Stadium on February 13 after which Wilkin criticised the club in his role as a pundit on Sky Sports.
He hit out about the sacking of Paul Wellens as head coach at the end of the 2025 season and Mark Percival's contract situation.
But 12 days later, Saints yesterday refuted Wilkin’s comments, saying they were “incorrect and damaging to the professional reputation of St Helens” in a strongly-worded statement.
