NO DUCKING THE ISSUE FOR REDS MAN AS HE REVEALS FRUSTRATION AT DISALLOWED GOAL

Robbo back in the line of FIRE

ANDY Robertson admits the Liverpool squad were left “hugely frustrated” by the decision to disallow Virgil van Dijk’s goal as the Premier League champions were beaten 3-0 at Manchester City.

Van Dijk headed home Mohamed Salah’s corner after Erling Haaland’s opener on Sunday but the effort was chalked off after Robertson was judged to have been interfering with City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

According to Premier League’s official Match Centre account on social media, Robertson was “deemed to be making an obvious action directly in front of the goalkeeper.”

Pep Guardiola’s men doubled their advantage before half time through Nico Gonzalez with Jeremy Doku sealing it after the break.

Scotland captain Robertson says the players were disappointed with the call to rule out Van Dijk’s header, saying: “I think initially they were looking at whether I was in the eyesight of the goalkeeper. I think everyone can rule that out. I think if they say that then there will be obviously bigger problems.
