Pennant: ‘Really stupid’ not to bid for Semenyo

JERMAINE PENNANT has slammed Liverpool as ‘really stupid’ for not trying to beat Manchester City to the signing of Antoine Semenyo.
The Ghana international has been heavily linked with the Reds in recent months and was previously signed by sporting director Richard Hughes during his time at AFC Bournemouth.
But despite being credited with interest in the forward, Liverpool have not made a move for the 25-year-old, with Semenyo instead closing in on a move to the Etihad.
Reports yesterday claimed City are close to reaching a full agreement with both Bournemouth and the player as they look to activate his £65m release clause.
