Mr Vango set for crack at Becher Chase at Aintree

The nine-year-old heads the weights on 12 stone and is also favourite at 6-1 with sponsors William Hill, having been among the 19 entries for the £150,000 3m2f feature of the seven-race card at Aintree.

Mr Vango (pictured above right) was a revelation last season and looked to hold a big chance in the Aintree showpiece back in April before missing the cut for the now 34-strong contest. Having landed victories in the London National at Sandown and the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock Park, Mr Vango then grabbed a fine success in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter instead of bidding for the big one on Merseyside.
