CENTRE-BACK TIPS NEW BOYS TO RECOVER FROM WOLVES SETBACK

EVERTON’S two biggest signings of the summer have been tipped to come good after both enduring tough nights in the 2-0 Carabao Cup exit at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Striker Thierno Barry, the Blues’ first new face of the summer, is still waiting to break his scoring duck following his £27million move from Villarreal.
The 6ft 5in frontman has made seven appearances so far but is yet to complete a full game with 64 minutes in the 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the inaugural competitive fixture at Hill Dickinson Stadium his lengthiest run-out to date.
For the last two matches, manager David Moyes has given Barry and Beto a half each, swapping them in the interval against Liverpool and Wolves.
Although the France under-21 international got the nod at Molineux, he cut a frustrated figure and having picked up an unnecessary booking for petulantly booting the ball away under the nose of the assistant referee after a free-kick decision didn’t go his way, he was hooked at the interval by his Glaswegian gaffer.
Michael Keane, now in his ninth season at Everton, reckons the rookie’s fortunes will change when he finds the net though and has backed the recruit to become a valuable asset.
