GANG STOLE OVER £70,000 FROM PLAYER IN RAIDS WHICH NETTED THEM OVER £1MILLION
Alexander Isak's home was broken into last year, while he was still a Newcastle player
A GANG of burglars who smashed their way into the home of Liverpool striker Alexander Isak made £1.2m in a series of raids.
The four Italians were previously jailed for a combined total of more than 30 years.
But they must now pay back just £1,100 after they admitted targeting three homes in the North East.
Newcastle Crown Court heard they spent hours near Newcastle United’s training ground in reconnaissance missions to work out the now-Liverpool player’s movements.
When they were arrested, police found pictures of the footballer on a phone seized from one of the gang.
Their original trial heard they broke into Mr Isak’s home in Darras Hall, near Newcastle, in April 2024.
He returned to find they had entered by smashing a glass door.
