YOUR CHANCE TO SHAPE FUTURE OF VITAL CHARITY
A BABY hospice which was saved after a remarkable city-wide fundraising campaign is asking people for help in choosing its new name.
Zoe's Place in West Derby was facing closure last October, but a huge effort from people across Liverpool and beyond raised millions of pounds to safeguard the future of a facility that provides vital care for very poorly babies, children and their families.
Following that campaign, the Liverpool branch of Zoe's Place - which also has hospices in Coventry and Middlesbrough - will move forward on its own, having now been established as an independent charity, run by local people.
Last week, planning permission was approved for the charity to build its new hospice on the site of the West Derby Bowling club on Hayman’s Green.
Now Liverpool Zoe's Place is inviting the public to help shape its future with the launch of its Same Heart, Fresh Start competition.
The name Zoe's Place was originally chosen since Zoe is derived from the Greek word meaning 'Gift of Life'.
The campaign calls on supporters to suggest a new name and design a new mascot for the hospice, with the winning entry to be revealed on stage at a fundraising concert at the M&S Bank Arena on July 17.
