'Final shutdown date' set for charity riding school

PONY-RIDING CHARITY MAKES FINAL PUSH TO RAISE FUNDS OR FACE CLOSURE

A CHARITY that provides pony-riding lessons to children from low-income households is hanging on by a thread as bosses say a final shutdown date has been set.

Park Palace Ponies in Dingle is facing imminent closure after months of financial struggles.

The charity, which has provided riding opportunities and community sessions for the past seven years, will shut down on June 28 unless the team is able to raise the £300,000 needed to keep doors open.

Trustee Karen Scott said: "We understand people are tired, and that fundraising fatigue is real.

"But we're asking, one final time, for support. This is more than horses. This is about saving a community space that brings joy, purpose, and unity."

The financial difficulties faced by Park Palace Ponies were announced earlier this year, when Karen said: "In September (2024) we were under immediate threat.
