IT WAS a fourth successive defeat for Liverpool in the Premier League as they were beaten 3-2 at Brentford on Saturday night.

After goals from Dango Ouattara and Kevin Schade had given the hosts a two-goal lead, Milos Kerkez grabbed his first for the Reds on the cusp of halftime.

Mohamed Salah fired in a superb effort late on after Igor Thiago's second-half penalty but it was too little, too late as the defending champions slumped to another reverse, their third in London this season already.

But you knew all of that, of course.

What you might have missed, however, were a series of intriguing subplots in west London.

Here, as always, are the moments you might have missed.

It was shortly before kickoff at the Gtech Community Stadium when, as is customary, the two teams were read out by the stadium announcer.

Liverpool's squad might reasonably believe themselves to be household names for watchers of Premier League football, but that didn’t mean many of their names weren't butchered on the pronunciation over the PA system.

Among those to have their names hurriedly read out were Dominik Szoboszlai, Rio Ngumoha and Hugo Ekitike.
