CHRISTMAS MARKET TRADERS TELL THE ECHO WHY LIVERPOOL IS ALWAYS ONE OF THEIR TOP CHOICES TO SET UP STALL

- By SOPHIE MCCOID, MEGAN WELLS & ANNA MCLAUGHLIN

Christmas markets are back for the 18th year, drawing in thousands of people from across the region.

Many stalls are back in the city, with loved businesses returning, and new traders hoping to make a splash.

The familiar wooden huts with bright lights and Christmas trees have popped up next to St George's Hall, just a one-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street station.

For new businesses like Nidhoggr, Liverpool's popular Christmas market create an ideal opportunity to increase business.

Donnell Matthews, 33, from Chester, said: "We're trying to get the name out there more...trying to get everyone drawn into our new company."

Nidhoggr is a company that sells mead, the first form of alcohol ever created. The unique company is hoping to attract alcohol-lovers, but the rain is becoming a challenge.
