A holiday offer I just couldn't refuse in Godfather country

LAST week I explained why I was going to visit Sicily.

As soon as the plane landed, I went straight into a waiting limo for a four-hour tour, to get the feel of the island before I settled down in the resort where I was basing myself, to gather my thoughts, and see if I belonged there.

Let me say straight away, Sicily is a mesmerising island where the azure seas meet ancient ruins.

Vibrant landscapes and sun-kissed beaches.

My beach was pebbles, but that was the only downside for me.

Its rich history, delectable cuisines, which include lots of fine dining, and warmhearted people created an unforgettable experience for me.

There was only one area to stay, as everyone had told me it was magnificent, and that was Taormina, one of the prime film locations for the fictional drama White Lotus.
