IMPS STAR RELISHING NEW CHALLENGE AT HUDDERSFIELD

- By SAM ALLEN

SEAN Roughan's ambition has taken him elsewhere, with the highly-rated defender leaving Lincoln City to join Huddersfield Town.

The 21-year-old chose the Terriers over continuing his development at Lincoln, with the latter jumping at the chance to sign him at the end of his contract.

The Imps still receive a compensation fee due to the rules on home-grown players below a certain age, but they will still be sad to see a player of Roughan's talent and potential move on.

The Ireland Under-21 international came through the youth ranks at Lincoln and went on to make close to 150 appearances for the first team, including every minute of the latest league campaign.

The club placed a lot of faith in him early on, and he continued to grow under Michael Skubala.

His ability to be available throughout an entire season is a testament to his durability, just as much as his talent.
