Dining venue plan for former bank
Lennox Herald
|July 08, 2025
Helensburgh's former Royal Bank of Scotland building could be brought back into use as a dining venue under plans submitted to council officers.
-
The Colquhoun Square premises is the subject of an application by Karl Giarchifora change of use from banking hall to a cafe or restaurant.
The bank has lain vacant since its closure in November 2024. It is not clear what sort of cafe or restaurant is earmarked to replace it should planning permission be granted.
However, the application states that the change of use involves 'restricted cooking,' while frontage alterations would also take place.
Argyll and Bute Council officials are expected to rule on the application by late August, with the public now able to view the plans and submit feedback.
