Wheels fall off after County Senior team's winning run
Leicester Mercury
|November 12, 2025
FIGHTING to get back to the Premiership from which they were relegated last season, the County Senior team won all four matches in the first round of fixtures
For the remainder, Jack Rogers and Ella Barnard left the team so as not to be tied for second team matches, leaving Chris Rogers, Mo Salameh, Luke Greenfield, Karen Smith and Daria Dzierbicka tackling the final three.
The victories continued with a 7-3 victory over Derbyshire, with Salameh and Rogers both undefeated.
But the County had to pull out all the stops against Warwickshire who went 4-3 up before Leicestershire took the last three sets, including a deuce in the fifth success for Smith, with Salameh and Rogers winning two apiece again.
Then the wheels fell off in the final match against Lancashire who had been relegated alongside Leicestershire last time.
The County were well beaten 8-2 to leave Lancashire undefeated at the top with only one team promoted from Division 1A, with the other from Division 1B.
