REVISED PLAN FOR THREE FLATS IN TOWN

- By JULIA BREENS

A THIRD attempt is being made to turn a former shop into flats, just months after the most recent application was refused.

The building, in Cheapside, just off Brook Street in Shepshed, has been earmarked for three one-bed flats by applicant Sam Spare, who has asked Charnwood Borough Council to officially change its use from retail to residential.

The applicant had previously asked the council for permission on two other occasions; the first in 2023 was refused and dismissed at appeal, while the second was earlier this year, with the council refusing permission again in June.
