MOON WALK LOOKS BACK TO THE '90s NEXT YEAR

- By STAFF REPORTER

A FLAGSHIP fundraiser will mark the 30th anniversary of a charity with a nostalgic nod to the 1990s when it returns next year.

Cancer charity Walk the Walk’s MoonWalk London, takes place on May 16. Entries are now open.

The charity was founded by Nina Barough, who was born in Leicester and went to Abington and Guthlaxton schools in Wigston.

For next year’s Neon 90s walk, participants are encouraged to embrace the era with bold outfits, decorated bras and plenty of retro flair.

Thousands of people will take on either 15.1 or 26.2 miles through the streets of London, raising money and awareness for breast and other cancers.

The event starts and finishes at Clapham Common.

Nina, who is also a UK national walking ambassador, said: “This is a landmark year for Walk the Walk.

“We've come a long way since the charity began 30 years ago, but our purpose still remains the same: to beat cancer one step at a time, through prevention, research and support for those living with the disease.

“The MoonWalk is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we each put one foot in front of the other.
