LEICESTER City chairman Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha will take on an increased role in the day-to-day running of the club following the departure of long-serving chief executive Susan Whelan.

It was announced yesterday that Whelan would be stepping down from her position, having joined the club following King Power's takeover in 2010.

Top will become chief executive on an interim basis, with a search for a new permanent CEO under way. Top will take on a more hands-on role as a result.
