LEICESTER

- By JORDAN BLACKWELL

City's miserable Christmas continued as they gave up an early lead to lose 2-1 at home to Watford yesterday, heaping further pressure on manager Marti Cifuentes.Jordan James had looked like restoring the festive spirit lost in the 4-1 collapse at QPR when he scored an early opener, but City conceded twice and then were clueless to react.

Centre-back Caleb Okoli's error gifted Othmane Maamma the first goal and Mattie Pollock headed in midway through the second period, with City mustering nothing in response.

Watford had arrived with the worst away points total in the Championship, yet claimed the victory with relative ease. With City in the bottom half of the table at the halfway stage, Cifuentes' position does not feel comfortable.
