Moped rider seriously injured in hit-and-run collision

A MOPED rider is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision in the city on Friday.

The rider, who is in his 20s, was involved in a head-on collision with a car - believed to be a Mercedes - in East Park Road, Spinney Hills, near the junction with Blanklyn Avenue.

The driver of the car did not stop at the scene and police are working to identify them. Officers are urging the driver to come forward and are also wanting to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or captured anything on dashcam which could help with the investigation.
