Inquest opens into the death of woman who disappeared in 2006

REMAINS FOUND IN OCTOBER CONFIRMED AS THOSE OF MISSING MUM

AN inquest was due to open today into the death of Malgorzata Wnuczek, whose remains have been found nearly 20 years after she went missing.

Malgorzata, pictured, known to her family as Gosia, was 27 when she was last seen, getting on a bus after leaving her workplace in Braunstone Frith, Leicester, on May 31, 2006.

She had been living in a shared house in Mill Hill Lane, Highfields, working shifts at the warehouse and saving money to visit her daughter Ola in Poland.

After many years of appeals for information, police recently received intelligence from counterparts in Poland that her remains might be in scrubland off Great Central Way, near Watkin Road in Leicester.

After searching for nearly a month, the specialist officers located what were believed to be her remains on October 8.
