Hat-trick of national awards for attractions

RECOGNITION FROM VISITENGLAND
LEICESTERSHIRE has claimed a hat-trick of national tourism awards, with winners including a historic pub that once doubled as the local mortuary.
The centuries-old venue and two other attractions have been recognised by VisitEngland.
Two took silver awards, and one bronze, at the finals of the organisation’s Awards for Excellence, held in Brighton last week.
The National Space Centre, in Leicester, won silver in the Large Visitor Attraction category, marking the first time it has been shortlisted for the national award. The centre has been entertaining and educating visitors for 20 years and celebrates the city’s history of technological innovation.
