Stoke fall short with the bat in only Division Two fixture to be played to completion

THE ONLY game in Surrey Championship Division Two to be played to completion, Stoke D'Abernon couldn't make it count as they lost by eight wickets to Addiscombe.

Stoke were put in and shot out in just 30.3 overs; Azhar Kiani top scoring with 21. Jamie Sones and Declan Ritchie were the only others to make it to double figures. Things could have been a lot worse but for 20 extras. Ollie Armstrong led the bowlers with 4-22.

Addiscombe didn’t hang about with the rain looming, and took just 14.1 overs to move into the top four at the expense of others in the table. Small crumbs of comfort came from Jase Earl who was the only successful bowler, and a run out effected by Oliver Trower.

A good week of preparation is needed to be ready for the visit of Horsley & Send on Saturday.

In Division Six West, Stoke D'Abernon's second XI game against Godalming was abandoned.
