DORKING Cricket Club made it two wins from two in this year’s Surrey Championship Division Three West with a gritty 31-run victory over a competitive Chertsey side in front of a lively crowd at Pixham Lane.
After being put into bat, Dorking’s innings was a story of resilience and momentum shifts.
Opener Chris Thurgood anchored the top order with a composed 65 from 78 balls, stabilising early jitters after the loss of both Barney Davies and Charlie Kenway for single digits. Maduranga Zoysa followed with a fluent 55 off 60 balls, piercing the field with five crisp boundaries as Dorking looked to accelerate.
