Repair work to restore bar's well to medieval glory

Looking down the well at PLAU

PLAU bar, on Friargate, opened in November 2018 and has been operated by Jeremy and Rebecca Rowlands of Meat and Drink for the vast majority of its time.

It operates over three floors with the upstairs area now home of Fino Tapas and ground floor home to the bar area.

But the basement, known as The Vaults, has long been one of the more eye-catching elements of the venue thanks in no small part to the medieval well you can find there.
