PNE 'target' Pol's highly rated by Owls manager

Reported North End target Pol Valentin is highly rated at Hillsborough - despite the Sheffield Wednesday defender leaving this summer.

Preston are claimed to be rivalling Derby County for Pol, while both clubs have also been credited with interest in Hull City full-back Cody Drameh.

It has been suggested that North End are leading the race for Spaniard Valentin's signature.

The player spent two seasons at Hillsborough, making 77 appearances for Wednesday and scoring two goals. The defender came to the end of his deal this summer.

He joined from Sporting Gijon in the summer of 2023 but the man to sign him, Xisco Munoz, lasted a mere 12 games.

Valentin still went on to feature regularly under Danny Rohl, whose future at the club is now in doubt.
