Packed audience served up Food Glorious Food and much more in accomplished school show

No glitz and glamour necessary in pupils' perfect production of Oliver

Rook Ladish, left, as Oliver and Adam Wareing as The Artful Dodger

What a glorious show Oliver is! And what a joyous uninhibited performance by the cast of thirty-nine at St Bede's Lytham.

The immediately memorable songs are of such quality, frequency and variety that there is no need for much in the way of expensive costumes, glitzy lighting and tricksy 21st century artifice. The enjoyment for the packed audience on the opening night came from the performance of the actors who here simply revelled in their roles.
