Driver who killed girl, 6, cleared of dangerous driving

A jury has cleared a van driver of dangerous driving after a six-year-old girl was killed when he struck her moments after she stepped off a bus on the A6 near Preston.
Stephen Worden, 61, was found not guilty at Preston Crown Court of three counts of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving. He had already admitted causing the death of schoolgirl Millie Gribble by careless driving, as well as causing serious injury to two others.
