Controversial chicken factory loses bid to extend its hours

A chicken factory has lost its bid to extend its operating hours.
Gafoor Pure Halal Ltd in Fletcher Road had applied to be able to operate before 7am and after 9pm Monday to Saturdays - and also on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
In its application it claimed it had been consistently breaching the delivery and operating rules which made the condition restriction the factory's hours null and void.
But Preston City Council said it would not grant a certificate of lawfulness.
This means the operating conditions - known as condition three restricting the operating hours - still stands.
