A 12-year-old boy who launched fireworks at passersby was detained by police during a night of Hallowe'en trouble.

- by Ed Walker

Lancashire Police's Specials unit were called to reports of youths targeting members of the public in Ribbleton.

A 12-year-old boy was seen 'launching an explosive' at people and police also seized three 'handheld banger-style fireworks'. The boy was taken home to parents and referred to the police's 'early action team'.

Police also attended reports of youths launching fireworks at Moor Nook community centre in Ribbleton.
