Amanda Knox was mistreated but her TV drama is misguided

A kiss at a murder scene, a cartwheel in custody and a confession, made under intense police interrogation, incriminate Kercher's American roommate Amanda Knox. Over the next eight years, Knox will be convicted, acquitted, reconvicted and acquitted again. Even today, some swear that Knox did it.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox makes a case for her innocence. Co-produced by Knox herself, the series recounts her memory of events.

We begin in 2022 as Knox returns to Italy to meet Giuliano Mignini, the man who prosecuted her once more. As she hides under a blanket from the press, the police and the general public, it's clear that, even in this flash forward, this is a tale that has no end.

From this scene we jump backwards in time and meet another Amanda, this one 15 years younger. Scenes of young Amanda's Italian adventure are tinged with an orange hue as if we have stepped directly into her rose-tinted memory.
