Kilmarnock captain Kyle Vassell says he has a verbal agreement on a new contract in place with the club-but confessed actually putting pen to paper and making it official may be down to Premiership survival.

Killie travel to St Johnstone on Saturday hoping to move a step closer to securing their top flight status for another year and the 32-year-old is hoping to make his return having not featured since sustaining an ankle injury in a home win over St Mirren on January 2 after being an unused substitute in their win over Ross County.

The striker is also out of contract in the summer and while he '100 per cent' backs his side to avoid the drop, he says nothing will be set in stone as regards to his future until safety is achieved.
