Bus strikes end after drivers back new deal

Stagecoach drivers in Ayrshire have “overwhelmingly” backed an 18-month, 11.5 per cent pay deal agreed between Unite the Union and the bus operator.

A 10-day strike came to an end earlier this week after a breakthrough was reached between Stagecoach and the union on Tuesday, June 17.

The new deal, officially supported by drivers today, Friday, June 20, will see an end to further disruption.

As part of the deal, drivers will see their increase backdated to January which takes basic hourly pay from £13 per hour to £14 per hour in June this year.

From February 2026, the rate will be lifted again to £14.50 until July 2026 when pay negotiations will be renewed.
